I have taught Chemistry for many years. The courses I tutored included General, Organic, and Biochemistry at the college level. My tutoring philosophy requires me to tutor one-on-one with students. I provide notes along with methods and suggestions for solving problems. My goal is to always consider their learning needs along with curriculum requirements. I love Chemistry because it contains every element necessary to solve virtually any problem in life. These elements include facts, reactions, and reagents, etc. There is also the experimental element where things must be proven.Many students are challenged by Chemistry because their method is to memorize concepts. Unlocking the understanding of anything is best accomplished by discovering the "why" and then working to unlock the mysteries of "how." I encourage students to be an active participant in their learning to achieve their goals. I am patient, but I like to push students to achieve their best. I have seen students develop confidence once they discovered how to learn. It helped them push past their discomfort. Many of these students have gone on to achieve their academic dreams.
